June was marked by peak summer heat and a delayed monsoon. Three species were recorded for the first time in the sanctuary; Blue-tailed Bee-eater, Indian Paradise-Flycatcher and Black-headed Cukooshrike.
The onset of monsoon in the final week of June brought three additional species; Scaly-breasted Munia, Tawny-bellied Babbler and Grey-breasted Prinia; and also triggered nesting activity by Common Tailorbird, Ashy Prinia and Greater Coucal within the sanctuary.
